Emphasis is
placed on the social development of our children; we wish them to grow and develop in a
secure, happy and caring environment.
We aim at all
times to broaden childrens experiences. Your child will have the opportunities to go
on educational visits connected with their schoolwork. We also encourage visitors into
school, to speak to, or perform for the children.
Taking part
in musical and dramatic performances increases childrens confidence both social and
physical.
Throughout
the school year there are after school activities for the children in the junior
department.
Swimming
lessons for the Junior children are taken once a week at the local swimming pool. Children
are taught to swim and their efforts are rewarded with distance certificates.
The parish
priest Father Robert Davies visits the school regularly to conduct an assembly for the
whole school.
Open Door an
Evangelical group are also regular visitors to the school.
We maintain
strong links with the community: Harvest gifts are distributed around the village;
Christmas celebrations are held in Bethel Chapel; the children visit local old people
homes to sing carols at Christmas.
We hope to
develop our own allotment during 2005.
Various
childrens charities are also supported during the year.
