Targets for the academic year 2004-2005 using the
guidelines given to us by the Local Education Authority area as follows:-
2004-2005
End
of Key Stage 1
85% of
children to attain level 2 +
End
of key stage 2
68% of
children to gain level 4 + ( cohort 6 each child = 17%rounded)
We realise
that each year brings a different set of children, coming from various backgrounds, each
child will have differing needs. Whilst in theory it would be sound to increase targets
each year, we prudently set targets specifically aimed at an individual set of children.
The baseline
assessment forms the foundation for assessing every child when they enter school; we then
administer another assessment on the baseline a year later. These are performed in
conjunction with the Foundation Profile, these form the basis of our target setting up to
Key Stage 1 (up to 7 years old) The targets in Key Stage 2 (up to 11 years of age) are set
using the results of the tests carried out in Key Stage 1.
We aim to
have high yet realistic expectations of our children, we have found that in the past we
have either met or surpassed our targets.
From
September 2005 we will no longer be administering the Standard Assessment Tests, these
will be replaced by a skills test in Year 5.
