Attendance
We are
required by LAW to notify the authority of all unauthorised absences.
It is
essential that a letter or telephone call notify us of all absences, stating the reasons
for absence. This procedure is important and is in everyones interest. Please note that attendance registers are
scrutinised by the schools Welfare Officer, Mrs Alison Hitchins.
Absence for
family holidays are only allowed in exceptional circumstances and must not exceed 10
school days in one academic year (September August). The 10 days can only be taken
with the permission of the head teacher. Forms are available from the school office.
Applications must be made at least three weeks before the holiday is taken.
Any days
which exceed the 10 days may be recorded as an UNAUTHORISED ABSENCE, and the relevant
authorities informed. All absences both unauthorised and authorised are shown on a
childs school record.
