The school is described as being “a good school with outstanding features.”
These include excellent working relationships which foster learning, accurate assessment of children's achievement and progress, very effective work related education, very good provision for children with additional learning needs and effective recognition and respect for diversity.
The inspectors found that the quality of teaching was consistently good, with nearly a quarter being judged to be outstanding.
The inspectors stated that the school benefits from strong and effective leadership and a supportive and well informed governing body.
The lead inspector Mr Stephen Dennett commented on the family atmosphere in the school and strong partnerships with the parents and community. The report states that “good behaviour contributes effectively to the good progress and development of pupils.”
This reflects our mission statement of
CARING, LEARNING AND ACHIEVING TOGETHER
. The staff, governing body, parents and pupils are delighted that the good work of the school has been recognised and praised.
The school agreed with the recommendations as to the way forward, which included improving resources for Information Technology and increasing the size of the school in order to accommodate the number of pupils on roll.
We are pleased to announce that as of September 2008 we have gone a long way to address the above shortcomings:
·
A larger hall to accommodate all pupils on roll,
due to the rebuilding of our new block.
·
Interactive whiteboard in every classroom
and in the hall.
·
At least
3 PCs in each infant classroom
and 2 in each junior classroom.
·
Portable suite of laptops.
·
Large investment in relevant software
to deliver the new challenge curriculum
fit for the 21st Century.
