Slave Trade

The Slave Trade was all about to get money by sending things to different countries and trading.They auctioned Africans to trade.The Slave Tradw began in the 16th century after the discovery of America.The merchents of Bristol, London and Liverpool wanted to take advantage of this money spinner and then started to get Slaves from Africa to exchange for manufactured goods magde in Britain.Slavery had a long history through life and it was going on for many years. The Slave Trade was a very heart-breaking time for people living in Africa.It was very cruel and sad for them have had their lives taken away from them.

This is a map Triangle to show how the triangle showed around the world.The first leg was West Africa, the secong leg was the carribean then North Africa and then the third leg was Europe.The Slave trade was in lots of parts of the world.

Auctioning

They were auctioned like a peice of furniture.They had to stand there and get looked at. Their whole body was checked to see if their health was good and if they were looking healthy.

The Slaves were all sold for an amount of money that depended on their health and their age.If their were a good healthy slave and that could work hard they would be sold for more.Most young males were sold for the most between that time because people knew they would work.The Slaves were sold for about between £60-800.

Abolition

The British were part of the Triangular Trade but abolished it in Britain in 1807.
