'Menter'

A Young Enterprise Company

Fifteen aspiring entrepreneurs from Year 12, have this year set up the latest profit making Young Enterprise CompanyŽ. As one of only eight schools brave enough to face the competition in the Taff Ely area, Menter has already made substantial profits with its innovative products.

Early in the school year it set up its board of Directors headed by Managing Director Dominic Gay - brainstormed million pound making product ideas(!), successfully marketed and finally created a 'School Survival Booklet'. The booklet originally based itself as a helpful guide to Year 7 pupils, preparing them for the often daunting prospect of starting senior school. To widen their target audience the book has since attracted sales from all levels of the school including staff (who quite naturally wanted to find out exactly what all the fuss was about!).

The company will be selling it along with its other products (authentic Indian jewellery and original designer key rings) at the Taff Ely trade fair at Tesco Extra in Cardiff, March 14th. Due to the innovative nature of its product it is a strong contender for the prize for 'Best Product' and with luck, take them to the next stage of this year's regional finals. The product is available on sale now from the dining hall at break times at a bargain price of one pound. Queries on the product can be answered by any of the team: Leanne Sloan (Newly appointed Managing Director), Rebecca Bracey, Charlotte Bracey, Kimberly Davis, Michael Edwards, Daniel Green, Antonia Griffiths, James Hourihan, Lucy Mohan, Emily Jones, Clare Reeves, Krystyna Schneider, Clare Thomas, and Samantha Watt (or Miss Doyle - link teacher)

Good luck team!!!
