Role and Responsibilities

The HLTA plays an active role in the planning of lessons based on fortnightly planning sheets.  At present she teaches at Reception, Year 1, Year 2 (five classes in all).  She concentrates on Language, Mathematics and Religious Education.  Helen feeds back information to the class teacher at the completion of the session.  Evaluation of lessons to sustain and improve standards is crucial.

Aspects of Good Practice

Helen has found ESIS based training of great assistance in delivering effective lessons.  She is hoping to take up further professional development on planning and further her knowledge on particular subjects (eg Religious Education)

Teachers have found PPA time invaluable given Helen’s excellent capabilities and we look forward to developing her role further.
