Role and Responsibilities

The school has 4 classes, 4 teachers, 1 NNEB, 1 teacher’s aide.   PPA teacher shared with junior school initially for 3 sessions.  PPA teacher chose to finish in our school – October half term.  Floating teaching covering PPA until end of term.  NNEB became an approved HLTA in pilot project.  NNEB very experienced, enthusiastic, keen to undertake INSET.

NNEB works closely with class teacher in planning, preparing tasks, activities and work sheets and evaluating at end of fortnight.

Aspects of Good Practice

Teachers plan fortnightly.  PPA teacher picks up the planning and teachers relevant lessons.  Good use made by teachers during PPA time.

NNEB delivers catch up – school has very good results.  NNEB has trained the teacher’s aide to deliver catch-up for the 2nd session each week.
