What have we achieved?

	Provided the most comprehensive programme of in-service training in Wales – circa 750 courses provided
	Developed a major school improvement programme
	Co-ordinated and delivered training on performance management for schools.
	Successful partnerships in winning and delivering contracts for the development of school leadership programmes in Wales e.g. NPQH and PHIP.
	Extensive provision for promoting developments in ICT at the refurbished and re-designated ‘Learning Centre’ at the Broadway, Pontypridd.
	Established an accredited course for middle managers from primary and secondary schools
	Research and development to produce a range of resources for schools.
	Provided a statistical service to all schools and the Directorate, which informs the annual review of each school’s performance.
	Implemented a rolling programme of support to schools to achieve the prestigious Basic Skills Agency Quality Mark.
	Appointed an adviser for inclusive education and training for all phases on the new SEN Code of Practice.
	Established a wide-ranging programme of international links and study visits.
	Major exhibition of pupils’ creative art and language work held at the Rhondda Heritage Centre in celebration of the Golden Jubilee
	All RCT schools continue to subscribe to an annual SLA. Evaluation of in-service training showed over 92% of courses to be good or very good
